I’m never one to get too excited by a remix album as I feel that they detract from the artist’s original vision, however this album is an exception. It was released in 2015 on Herzblut and was intended as a tribute to Robert Moog, the inventor of the. I think in German Minimalist Techno and in contemporary music in general, few are doing it as well as Stephan Bodzin. Blue Giant, Wir, Odyssee, and Zulu form another group of compelling songs. Zulu, Powers of Ten, Singularity and Birth are the tracks that stand out for me from the original release (back in June) so I’m pleased to see that they all feature on the remix album (some more than once as different artists take to remix duty). Powers of Ten is Stephan Bodzins second solo album. Tracks like Sputnik, Birth and Powers of Ten have become essential for me- they are simply great.
